The Reverse is also True

by | Writing Exercises

We are all simultaneously living the phases of caterpillar, cocoon, and butterfly.

We gather experiences as a caterpillar, go through our own personal alchemy/metamorphosis while cocooning, before we emerge as the transformed butterfly.

Life is like this.

One person’s growing pains may be another’s learnt lesson. We are all in our unique circumstance of gathering, shedding, growing, healing, transforming.

Stay in your own lane. Witness your life as it unfolds. The more you allow yourself to go through your own process, the easier it becomes to accept others as they go through their own.

The only way to be or embody something, is to practice becoming it. In other words, in order to get from here to there, you have to go through.

Trying to get someone “there” won’t work.

Has it ever?

It likely never will.

It’s frustrating when you try to fast forward your own or someone else’s growth curve. We all learn differently, have different lessons to learn, and are only responsible for our own personal transformations.

The moment you point a finger in judgment, remember, the same could be said about you; in other words, the reverse is also true…

….

Writing Prompts:

In this part of your journey, what are you most aware of: crawling like the caterpillar, cocooning in the chrysalis, or feeling the wind beneath your butterfly wings?

What can you give yourself to experience more grace and ease during your transition?
