If the pandemic has offered any silver lining to the health and well-being of employees, it’s been the opportunity to reflect on and reset the balance between work and life.
“How are we building our work around our life, versus our life around our work? And I think many of us struggle with that,” said Dr. Supriya Blair, owner of Dr. Blair Psychology LLC in Albany.
While many work-from-home situations during the pandemic have been less than ideal, especially for parents, Blair said employees should take time to reevaluate their routines and make sure their work life aligns with their values.
Blair shared her insights during the Albany Business Review’s 2020 Healthiest Employers virtual celebration on Thursday, which focused on mental health in the workplace. The event was sponsored by BlueShield of Northeastern New York, Ellis Medicine and GTM Payroll Services.

Even as “healthiest” has taken on a very different meaning in 2020, these companies are adapting their methods of employee outreach as their day-to-day operations change.
