Forgiveness

“How people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours.” – Wayne Dyer

We all have universal needs: needs for safety, belonging, love, and acceptance. The most beautiful person to give you those things is you… You! So, what is that thing, that shadowy cloud above you or that heavy weight that sits on your heart and makes it difficult to breathe?

The most important person in your life you need to forgive is… yourself.

This goes for all of us:

Forgiving yourself for carrying the load of a heavy heart.
Forgiving yourself for not treating yourself with the love, care, and attention you deserve.
Forgiving yourself for being scared and giving your power away.
Forgiving yourself for allowing others to hurt you through their words or actions.
Forgiving yourself for hurting others through your words or actions.

Our minds are not meant to be inundated with information. Our bodies, where we carry our emotions, are not meant to be burdened by unresolved feelings. We, as humans, are meant to embrace our beings: our ability to connect and love through our total presence.

Forgiving yourself is all about allowing the past to be the past and choosing to learn and grow from it. Using those past experiences to choose love instead of hate, acceptance instead of discrimination, and generosity instead of greed. Remember, every one, at some point, has to forgive himself/herself/themselves and grow. Your life and how you deal with it, is all about you. If there is someone who has done you a great injustice, that individual has already created, and set in motion, the consequences of his or her hurtful actions.

Embrace your God-given gifts and share them. This is the most powerful thing you can do.
Live with a grateful heart. This is the most beautiful thing you can do.
Learn from your experiences. This is the wisest thing you can do.
Be the beautiful soul you are. This is the most courageous thing you can do.
