Life is opening up
Strangers drive past these empty streets again
All around, a passage of time
The miles on your car
The grays in my hair
Threadbare to the movement of time
What is truly “age” except moments of our lives since gone
As I shed this skin and invite the whites up top
I invite my heart to continue opening up
Gravitational skin drop as my wisdom sparks
What is truly “skin” except an extension of this instrument
A means to get things done and protect the vital inside
Lessons learned and differences embraced
Life is truly a gift when you’re grateful for what you’ve got
And appreciate that naturally given to you
A part of this world but always apart
Sincere from the start
Looking to connect the dots
From the end of the beginning to the beginning of the end
